About the data
Fluck is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Flock Safety (Flock Group Inc.). "Flock" and "Flock Safety" are their trademarks. We use them only to name whose devices are shown. Fluck is a free, noncommercial, public-interest project by r12d. It has no ads, no paid tier and no sponsors.
The Flock inventory layer
In November 2025, security researcher Joshua Michael found that a Flock website exposed an access token that worked without logging in and could be used to read device locations. He reported it to Flock and archived the inventory in December 2025. He publishes it at flocksurveillance.org, along with his research papers. Fluck shows a frozen copy, snapshot 2026-08-28.
What Fluck keeps: each device's location (rounded to about a meter), type, status (in service, planned, decommissioned), listed capabilities and the direction it faces.
What Fluck removes: device names, because they often contain street addresses that could identify a private customer such as a homeowner or a small business, and all of Flock's internal IDs, network and organization identifiers, and record dates.
Flock disputes how the inventory was obtained and says it has about 120,000 cameras. The inventory has more entries than that because it includes planned and decommissioned devices and hardware other than cameras. Reporters who checked a random sample of locations found a Flock camera at each one, but we haven't verified every point, and you shouldn't assume we have.
The OpenStreetMap layer
Every night, Fluck downloads the automated license plate readers tagged as Flock in
OpenStreetMap (surveillance:type=ALPR
with a Flock manufacturer or brand). Volunteers add most of them through
DeFlock. Last update: within the
last day. To add or fix a camera, edit OpenStreetMap. Fluck picks up the change the next
night.
Privacy
Fluck sets no cookies, uses no analytics and keeps no access logs. Your browser loads everything, including the base map, fonts and ZIP code list, from fluck.r12d.ch. Nothing loads from map providers or other third parties. The location button uses your browser's geolocation, and your position never leaves your device. The "Street View" and "OpenStreetMap" links in popups go to those sites, but only if you click them.
